400+ pages of local history: completed May 2018, after 2 years, the Mt. Lebanon, PA community was awarded this comprehensive photographic timeline of each building at Mt. Lebanon’s campus from 1914 through 2015.
During a period of tumultuous construction, I spent my freshman year around construction vehicles, gravel, plastic tarps for walls, and drill smoke. Throughout this process, I grew philosophical over the “high school experience" — what I grew up believing it to be (and remembering it as) and what it had become.
The major question that drove this book: what would Mt. Lebanon High Schoolers of the future experience? Would it ever be the same? My duty was to create something that alumni, community members, current, and future students could use to learn about the past that brought them to where we are today, and how architecture shapes our experiences.
The book can be found at the Pittsburgh Landmark & History Foundation, Mt. Lebanon Historical Society, Mt. Lebanon Public Library, and Mt. Lebanon High School.
