I reviewed the original documentation and timeline, identified weak points, and created pages-worth of fixes I’d like to address, information I planned to convey, and then began to write a new timeline which would serve as the basis to the new curriculum. Through multiple reviews with my boss and myself, I thoroughly combed through the content and adjusted plans to fit a reasonable schedule based around the usual summer holidays. Ultimately, I curated a curriculum based around discussion, constructive group critique, existing online resources, synchronous reviews, and flex assignments for those interested. I was able to adjust the curriculum in the moment based on the interns’ interests and ultimately created an inviting, stress-free environment that is the most conducive to productive learning. Overall, a sense of community rang true for the tight group of three.

I would love to reconsider timing of assignments and adjusting how much time to focus on critique. During each session, myself and the interns favored in-depth critique, which is where we found the most value over content review.
